NHMS Results Newsletter: May 2021

National Honey Monitoring Scheme: Newsletter May 2021
I hope this newsletter finds you well.

NHMS 2020 results
There has been a slight hiccup with the automated emails and workflow status update, my apologies. However, we promised May and you will be pleased to hear that……

YOUR RESULTS ARE NOW READY TO BE VIEWED ON THE NHMS WEBSITE!!!!!

Habitat and crop data are available for all participants who returned honey samples before the November 2020 cut-off date.

Plant DNA barcoding results, showing the different plant taxa found within your honey sample, are also available for those honey samples which were chosen for molecular analysis. Please see for further information: https://honey-monitoring.ac.uk/news-and-events/news/nhms-newsletter-october-2020.

Please note: There are a small number of samples where DNA barcoding failed. The nature of the sequencing protocol means this does happen and consequently species results cannot be provided for these honey samples.

How can I see my results?

Taking part in NHMS 2021
We have had almost 800 requests so far- thank you. Packs are prepared every Thursday and you will be informed of dispatch via an automated email.

Sample packs can be requested via the ‘Taking part’ tab once you have logged into your account at https://honey-monitoring.ac.uk/. This needs to be done every time you require a new sample pack however, sample packs from last year are still valid and can be used.

Instructions for sample collection are provided within each sample pack, also here: https://honey-monitoring.ac.uk/news-and-events/news/nhms-2021-sample-pack-letter.
